  1. The MainMail System Help - Download Packet
  2. ------------------------------------------

  4. This tells The MainMail System to extract and download messages
  5. based on your selected forums.  When you choose [D]ownload,
  6. The MainMail door does several things...
  7.  
  8. 1) MainMail extracts the messages in each forum you have selected.
  9.     a) If activated, MainMail extracts a list of new files.
  10.     b) If activated, MainMail extracts all new bulletins.
  11.  
  12. 2) MainMail then displays the number of messages, bulletins and
  13.    files it has found and gives you three options.  These are:
  14.  
  15. Do you want to Receive this Packet,
  16. [Y]es, [N]o, [G]oodbye When Done :
  17.  
  18. [Y]es - Continues the download
  19. [N]o  - Aborts the download
  20. [G]   - Continues the download and logs you off when done.

  22. 3) MainMail creates and compresses the packet using the compression
  23.    method you have chosen, or using the default compression method.
  24.  
  25. 4) MainMail then displays the size of the packet, and the estimated
  26.    download time based on your baudrate.  MainMail then sends the
  27.    file using the protocol you have chosen.  If no protocol has   
  28.    been chosen, MainMail will ask you for the protocol to use for
  29.    this transfer.

  31. 5) If the protocol you have selected in the bbs as your default
  32.    protocol is set up in The MainMail System with the same letter,
  33.    that protocol was assigned as your default when you opened The
  34.    MainMail System door the first time.
  35.  
  36. NOTE: If the estimated time is higher than the amount of time 
  37.       you have allocated, MainMail aborts the download.  If this
  38.       happens, you may wish to extract fewer messages, or toggle  
  39.       bulletins or files to OFF to reduce the size of your QWK
  40.       packet.
